At Archbishop Murphy High School, original film production has become a defining creative tradition. What began during the pandemic as a way to stay connected and inspired has grown into an annual program that brings storytelling to life. Each year, our films are written and directed by Brent Stainer, who crafts original scripts specifically for our school community.
Students are involved in every stage of the filmmaking process—from acting on screen to working behind the scenes with cameras, lighting, and sound. They also gain hands-on experience in directing, production planning, and understanding how a film comes together from concept to final cut. Production begins each fall, giving students the opportunity to collaborate, build skills, and be part of something uniquely their own.
